“Here is my review: the best area close to Kiyomizu and all shops and yummy traditional street food. Kiyomizu: We woke up at 5:30 and went to Kiyomizu to pray all 5 days during our stayed. Amazing morning walk! This is a Rare Big Michiya perfect for a big group or family. Not only this is an authentic Michiya but remodeled with practical upgrade. big kitchen, large living room, two bath and bathrooms. Lots of light and airly. Only challenges: 1. Google map didn’t state accurately so we got lost, couldn’t find house first. So make sure you get a map link from them which will shows the house accurately. 2, taxi: taxi can drop you off but to call taxi, like Uber, you have to walk one block to meet the car. It’s in authentic historical protection area that we need to walk out to a bigger street (only one block walk) to meet taxi you order. The host was very nice too We ll be happy to come back here for sure.”
“A house that has preserved a certain old-fashioned charm, old but sufficiently renovated to be reasonably comfortable. Recommended to any foreigner who wishes to experience living in a Japanese home. Tabi responded quickly to all questions... among the criticisms: a very noisy individual air heating system, and a lack of English user manuals for the equipment (not easy to decipher or guess the Japanese characters...)”

“The homestay is only a 5-minute walk from Kiyomizudera Temple, so you can perfectly avoid the crowds by going early in the morning. Other attractions like Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka are also very close and within walking distance. The house is decorated in a Japanese style, warm and comfortable. The host and housekeeper are extremely nice and very attentive!”
