“The little villa is truly a hidden gem, captivating with its authenticity and beauty. It is within walking distance of Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace. The immediate area is not particularly touristy and seems a bit unremarkable, but Kyoto is full of small and large surprises. When you go for a walk, you often discover lesser-known but extremely charming shrines, parks, and much more. The bus connections are good. A few minor criticisms: The music system did not work during our stay, and it seems that this is intentional by the owner. The duvets are too thick for my taste, and the washing machine is entirely in Japanese and not intuitive to use. Unfortunately, there is no instruction manual. However, the positive aspects far outweigh the negatives, and I would recommend the villa without hesitation.”
